Shoe Rack with Trefoil

Wood Species
Ash
Joinery
Mortise and Tenon, Rebate
Finish
Oil-based Poly

The wood for this started out intended for the Shaker Stool made at SBWI. However, as I chased tearout while planing the boards to thickness, they became to thin to use for that. I held onto them not wanting to waste the lovely contrast between the ash heartwood and sapwood.

Eventually I found some time to put together this simple shoe rack, made a little more elegant through the trefoils carved into the sides. I like to think it brings a little gothic elegance into the house without being too over the top.
